Over the years, Bute Island Foods has been honoured to have been recognised in a host of different awards. And none more so than the FreeFrom Food Awards, which are seen as a benchmark of quality and innovation in the food and drink industry. And once again we are delighted that Sheese has been nominated in the FreeFrom Awards 2020!
As well as many of our supermarket own-branded products also being nominated, three of our Sheese-branded products have been nominated for an award – all of them from our grated variety. Each has been nominated in the Milk Product Alternatives category. Firstly, our Grated Mild Cheddar Style Sheese has once again been nominated, having previously won a FreeFrom Gold Award. A staple in many a vegan fridge, this convenient alternative to our Mild Cheddar block or slices is great as an extra topping on pizza, as well as our very own recipe for Mac ‘n’ Sheese.
Our second nomination is for our Grated Mozzarella Style Sheese, which again is superb on pasta – inlcuding lasagne – as well as pies and quiches. And last but definitely not least is our new Grated Hard Italian Style Sheese which, as the name suggests, makes an excellent tangy and zesty topping to a vegan pasta Bolognese or risotto.
Judging for all the awards has already taken place, and we will be on tenterhooks waiting for the results at the glamorous FreeFrom Awards Party, this year being held on 28th April at the Royal College of Physicians in London. The Awards are always very much anticipated in the free-from food industry, as not only do they recognise the quality of the foods now available, they also provide continued encouragement to producers to strive for greater things. As the market for free-from and vegan products continues to grow, the awards will undoubtedly grow in stature.
